INTRODUCTION
The plight of the rhino is no new topic and certainly needs no further introduction. Neither is the seriousness of the situation a matter for dispute. The threat to the rhino is indeed an issue addressed by numerous forums and from various platforms.
While these are all-important issues that require deliberation at the highest levels, there is one matter that does not nearly get the attention it deserves – the tactics applied at the level where the ranger is attempting to combat the poacher in an almost desperate quest to save the rhino.
The time is long overdue for the exchange of best practices at tactical level. Partnerships have now become an absolute necessity.
The workshop is a groundbreaking first-time event for sharing best practice procedures at tactical level. It aims to create a unique forum to forge partnerships in the protection of environmental assets. It also provides an opportunity for attendees to see and test equipment at the sharp edge of technology. In short, the workshop presents a dynamic and comprehensive opportunity for meeting with fellow professionals and keeping abreast of current developments in the field.
In addition to the formal sessions there will be social events where delegates can meet and converse in a relaxed environment.
AIM
To find real solutions for anti-rhino-poaching operations by forging partnerships, establishing networks and sharing best practice techniques.
